In 2021, the UAE was the first country in the MENA region to commit to achieving net-zero by 2050 through its UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy.

Masdar City is accelerating the UAE’s journey to net-zero by reducing energy and water demand in the built environment, harnessing renewable energy, and offsetting carbon emissions. We’re also working toward making net-zero the standard in construction rather than the exception.

Innovate for Climate Tech is an online platform that seeks to create an inclusive climate technology ecosystem that will foster innovation by connecting startups, scaleups, corporates, investors and knowledge contributors to form a diverse global community. This initiative is aligned with the Climate Innovate Live coalition's mission to integrate the Global South into the climate tech revolution. Sustainable Mobility

Surface transportation accounts for 15 percent of carbon emissions globally, making sustainable mobility a vital component of any city. At Masdar City, we believe that future transportation is shared, electric, and autonomous, and have pioneered two generations of cutting-edge transportation systems with a third on the way. We also host the newly launched Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) cluster in Abu Dhabi. Endorsed by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, SAVI is set to transform the landscape of smart and autonomous vehicles across air, land, and sea mobility.
